At the Basisclub we tutor primary school students who need extra help with their Dutch language, math or other subject skills. Our approach is to create a personal learning plan for every student in which we target those subjects that are challenging to them. At the Basisclub there is room to revise or offer extra explanation of the subjects taught at school. In addition, there is the possibility to pre-teach the curriculum that will soon be covered in class. Attention is also paid to planning and organizing homework and to learn to take tests. In this way Basisclub ensures that primary students are equipped to make a smooth transition to high school. Our tutoring is valuable to many students. As they experience success, their self-confidence and motivation also grows. A lot of time is also spent on learning how to break down complex tasks into bite size pieces, an essential skill for students in their toolbox for later.
Onze begeleiding is waardevol voor veel leerlingen. Ze doen succeservaringen op, zodat ook het zelfvertrouwen en de motivatie groeit. Er wordt veel tijd besteed aan het aanleren van een handige (taak)aanpak, waar een kind op terug kan grijpen in de toekomst.

Our approach

During the intake, together with the parents and the student, we discuss the challenges and what the focus should be on. In addition, (if desired) the school teacher can be contacted to get a complete picture of the issues that need to be focussed on. We have found that this collaboration with the school is very valuable. Together we can determine whether individual Basisclub sessions or the Basisclub afternoon groups are most suitable. Each Basisclub block consists of 10 sessions, after which a written evaluation follows in order to track the developments closely. If desired, new appointments can be made. The Basisclub’s cozy beautiful space provides a pleasant working atmosphere.

We as parents are involved and well informed about the development. There is an evaluation every 10 weeks and the plan is adjusted accordingly if necessary. There is room for "loose" wishes, for example learning for a test or putting the finishing touches to a paper or presentation. Also useful for us if there is a moment of "pressure". The Basisclub offers a solution!
The Basisclub offers our two children a safe learning place, where they can develop in planning their homework and where they can deepen their learning. The team of the Basisclub knows how to stimulate our children in a warm and committed way. They enjoy going to the Basiclub every week and come home enthusiastic.
We have chosen the Basisclub because our sons could use some support planning and doing homework and also tackling those subjects that they need some extra help with. We find it important that this is done in a positive, pleasant environment. We found this at the Basisclub in spades; we are very satisfied! The boys enjoy going there and love to receive the support they need, at their own pace with the help of great tutors. In short, we highly recommend it!
My daughter has had a great time with you and has progressed. Moreover, she has learned to realize that if you work seriously at something, you also get better at it. Something that is also important for secondary school.
A few afternoons at the Basisclub helped my daughter enormously. Her basic knowledge has been brushed up, but more importantly: her self-confidence. She has more of a sense of control and that she can can do it and understands it in class.
The curriculum you have drawn up looks very good, positive and achievable in my opinion. It's nice that the emphasis is on what she can do. She currently experiences the Basisclub afternoons as positive and motivating. She enthusiastically tells what she has learned and seems to enjoy maths more. That's already a win. Onze zoon heeft het erg naar zijn zin en de zin in leren (terug)gevonden. Intense individual coaching focussed on training the executive functions. This training takes place at school.

  • Cogmed working memory training

Intense online training to improve working memory. You follow this training from home.
