Learning by doing and playing
The Dutchclub organizes meetups geared to primary school students with an international background who want to practice Dutch. Our motto is learning by doing and playing. Our playful approach makes language learning fun and it bolsters our students' self-confidence when speaking Dutch. Every student is encouraged to be themselves within the small-scale, encouraging and cozy environment of the Dutchclub. We always work with a theme around which we organize fun activities, games and of course introduce new vocabulary. At the Dutchclub students can practice on their own during individual Dutchclub sessions, but they can also practice in groups during the Duthclub afternoons or the special 'kleuter' meetings on Wednesday afternoons. In addition, we organize the Summer Dutchclub week in the summer.

Get a better grip on the Dutch language in a fun and educational environment.

During these meetings we work with a theme, around which we organize fun activities, games and of course introduce new vocabulary.

Dutchclub afternoon

On Wednesday afternoons we meet at the Dutchclub with two goals: to get a better grip on the Dutch language and to have a fun, educational afternoon together. A good way to practice Dutch is to give the student opportunities to speak with Dutch tutors. Children who do not yet speak Dutch fluently are welcome at the Dutchclub. Everyone comes to learn. Moreover, they meet other students who are also motivated to learn Dutch and make new friends. The focus is on playfully learning new Dutch words and gaining more confidence in speaking Dutch. Of course, attention is also paid to sentence structure and pronunciation.

Individual Dutchclub sessions

Individual Dutchclub lessons last 45 minutes in which a student works closely with a personal tutor. These lessons are very suitable for students who want to practice reading aloud in Dutch and who want to practice the Dutch sounds. These sessions also are especially useful for students who are (still) very shy about speaking Dutch. You can always transition to the Dutchclub group at a later phase!

Wednesday afternoon 'Kleuter' Dutchclub

Especially for children in group 1 and 2 (age: 4,5,6) we organize 'kleuter' Dutchclub lessons on Wednesday afternoon (from 12.30-13.30 hr or from 13.45-14.45 hr) in the Tweede Daltonschool. Children from every school are welcome to join!
During these meeting the children learn new words about 'the theme of the week' by doing all kind of activities. For example creative activities, reading in a nice book or playing an educative game together. Learning by playing and doing makes learning fun and makes the children more confident in speaking Dutch. During the Dutchclub meetings children with similar backgrounds meet each other. Where they are an exception in school since Dutch is their seconds language, at the Dutchclub everyone speaks different language at home.

August 26th - August 30th we organize the Summer Dutchclub week. This week is for children with Dutch as a second (or third) language who would like to improve their Dutch this summer. During the lessons, the children playfully work with the Dutch language, learn new words and gain more confidence in speaking Dutch. The morning is for the younger children (age: 4,5,6), the afternoon is for the older children (age: 7+). On Wednesday there is a field trip for all children. Please send an email to info@basisclub.nl if you would like to join!
